Street Math Investigations organizes out-of-school programs where children can apply their understanding of mathematics to solve different kinds of real life problems, with a focus on issues related to urban living. It is a provocative and dynamic way for children to engage in the revolutionary and preposterous world of mathematics using the vibrant culture of New York City as a backdrop. This summer we will be running our first session using the St Thomas Choir School as our home base. During the school year, SMI-NY will sponsor afterschool programs as well as family math nights at schools around the city.
